In September I was accepted into the Disney College Program. A Facebook group was made for the Spring 2013 DCP at Disneyland. Wreck it Ralph came out in theaters November 2nd. To pass the time, in mid November, I started making my very own Sugar Rush Racers from the movie. On the Disney College Program Facebook group, I made a post:

“If you comment on this post with your favorite dessert and favorite color(s), I’ll draw your Sugar Rush Racer!”

It started with two,
Then a few, then 10 more.
Then 20 more! And as I posted more sketches, a few more wanted one too.

Soon, 80 people were turned into Sugar Rush Racers.

I made all of them into sketches first.
Then, I planned to color them all. Paint, and colored pencil have been used, but it’s been agreed that the paint left the most dimension and the highest quality. Eventually the Racers were fully colored.

The colored pieces were to be left secret until the day of arrival at Disneyland. They were then returned to the owner (or "gamer") of the racer.

I presented 37 of these to Wonderground Gallery at Downtown Disney for advice on submitting work. I still have a long way to go, but I've fallen in love with these.

Note: THESE ARE NOT FOR SALE, Sugar Rush and Wreck it Ralph names and inspirations belong under Disney copyright. The characters are 100% original.
